OLYMPIC QUALIFYING MARK FOR PHIL NORMAN
Phil Norman confirmed his recent fine early season form on Wednesday at the World Athletics, Golden Spike meeting in Ostrava. In a high standard race won by Ethiopian Getnat Wale in 8m09.47 secs, Phil finished second holding off the rest of the chasing athletes as he clocked a personal best of 8m20.12 secs. This improved his “domestic” Club record but most importantly for Phil was inside the UKA standard for the Tokyo Olympic Games of 8m22.00 secs. Phil should next be in action at the first Diamond League meeting of the season at Gateshead on Sunday.
