MARY JOHN GAINS BRITISH JUNIOR SELECTION FOR LOUGHBOROUGH INTERNATIONAL

Congratulations to Mary John who has been selected to compete for the GB under-20 team at the Loughborough International on Sunday in the 400m. She was selected following her debut performance at the event at the start of the month, when her 54.05 club record time was inside the UKA European under-20 selection standard.

Woodford also has a strong contingent in the Scottish team for the fixture. Will Grimsey (high jump), who was second at the Loughborough event two years ago for the hosts, has committed to appear for Scotland for the first time. He will be joined by established international Jack Lawrie (400m hurdles and 4x400), Craig Charlton (shot) and Rebecca Matheson (4x100m relay). Two long term members who also coach several of the club’s Scottish contingent, Francis Smith and Andy Frost, are also on the Scottish coaching team for Loughborough as the team prepares for next year’s Commonwealth Games in Birmingham.
