European Junior Championships - UPDATED
On today's second day of the European U/20 Championships in Eskilstuna, Sweden, Joseph Dewar won a silver medal in the 100m, and both Dan Rowden and HCA member Jack Lawrie progressed comfortably through their heats
This afternoon saw the final of the men's 100m where yesterday Joseph Dewar had qualified as the second fastest for the final, after comfortably winning both his heat and semi-final yesterday in times of 10.47 secs (+1.2) and 10.54 secs (-1.8). The final too was run into a headwind, and Joseph placed 2nd in 10.46 secs (-1.0), to fellow Britan, Ojie Edoburun with 10.36 secs, with the Swedish athlete Emil Von Barth 3rd in 10.64 secs.
This morning saw the heats of the 400mH and 800m. Jack Lawrie won the first heat of the 400m in 51.91 secs, and moves into tomorrow's semi-finals with the fastest time from the heats. In the 800m Dan Rowden won the final, 5th heat in 1m51.35 secs and he too moves onto tomorrow's semi-final as the fastest qualifier. Joseph Dewar will be back in action on Sunday in the 4x100m.

Dan Rowden, just missed a place in the 800m final after placing 3rd in his semi with a time of 1m52.31 secs. Jack Lawrie moved into the 400mH final after placing 2nd in his semi with 52.30 secs, and then just missed out on a medal when he finished 4th in Sunday's final with 52.09 secs. Joseph Dewar ran the first leg of the 4x100m relay but the GB &NI team although initially qualifiing for the final were disqualified for a lane infringement
