Essex Championships - Seniors

Top performance in the senior age group came from Youcef Zatat whose win with 18.69m places him 2nd in this year’s UK ranking lists. Behind Youcef in 4th was Hugh Williams with 11.59m. Hugh was also 2nd in the discus with 35.11m and in the hammer V55 Fergus Harford was 3rd with 28.93m. Adrian Richards , now a V35, has been showing great form and he took 2nd in the 400m with 50.80 secs and later was 4th in the 200m final with 22.70 secs where Nathan Yeo recorded a p.b. of 23.13 secs for 5th. Sikuro Onibanjo was 2nd in the senior 100m with 10.71 secs w (+3.2) with Nathan 4th with 11.27 secs w. In the senior women’s sprints Lakeshia Adams Poku picked up two silver medals as she placed 2nd in each of the 100m and 200m with 12.33 secs w and 25.33 secs. Kitty Eleyae took the senior LJ title where she jumped 5.32m (nwi) into a strong headwind. There was also a win for new member Kike Oniwinde in the javelin with 44.25m in her first competition since 2017. Over 400mH Rhianna Buaku was 2nd with 68.25 secs.
