European Championships - Munich

Sunday saw the final day of the European Championships held in Munich. Cindy Sember was Woodford's final athlete in action at these Championships and she had to wait for the final day for her event. Sadly it wasn't to be the expected medal for Cindy in the final. Cindy entered the competition as the fastest in Europe and qualified from her semi-final which she won in 12.62 secs (+0.1) as the fastest. However, in the final she hit the second hurdle badly with her trail leg, lost significan momentum and wasn't then able to make up the lost ground and finished 8th in 13.16 secs (-0.1). The previous day Phil Norman was in the 3000m s/ch final. Having looked comfortable as he qualified by right from his heat with 8m32.00 secs, Phil lost a bit of ground mid race and although he rallied in the last 100m or so finished in 9th with 8m33.05 secs. Daniel Rowden qualified from his heat of the 800m on Thursday after finishing 3rd in 1m47.67 secs. Friday's semi-final unfortunately saw Daniel ran out in the last 50m of a slow race and he finished 5th in 1m48.80 secs.
