National title for Yemi Mary John
Yemi Mary John won the U/20 England 400m Championships at Bedford on Saturday. In her first season over 400m she bettered the European Under 20 Championships qualifying time for the 4th time winning her title by the significant margin of 1.67 secs in a time of 53.71 secs. Other Woodford athletes were also in action at Bedford where results included a bronze medal for Ollie Cresswell.
Ollie Cresswell’s medal came as he placed 3rd in the U/23 110mH as he improved his personal best by 0.01 secs when recording 14.623 secs (-0.2). Another to make a national final was Declan Gall now beginning to return to good form over 400mH having recovered from surgery as he placed 4th in his final with 53.45 secs. Also 4th in the women’s U/20 discus was Precious Hamilton with 43.06m. In U/20 qualifying rounds Nabil Tezkratt recorded 49.66 secs over 400m and 21.99 (-0.1) secs over 200m. In the heats of the U/20 100m Matthew Adum-Yeboah recorded 11.24 secs (-1.3, and Sikiru Onibanjo 11.29 secs (-2.4), Shona Vincent still an U/17 recorded 12.40 secs (-1.2) in her heat
