Several Woodford athletes were in action indoors over the weekend where performances were headed by a significant 60m personal best for Eugene Ado-Dadzie. There was also p.b.s for U/20’s Matthew Adum-Yeboah and Sikiru Onigbanjo.  

Competing at the London Indoor Games at Lee Valley on Sunday, Eugene Ado-Dadzie showed good form running a p.b. in his first run of 6.75 secs, and then being elevated to the “A” second race where although 6th he again ran 6.75 secs, with all the athletes ahead of him being Great Britain internationals. In the U/20 races Sikiru Onigbanjo twice recorded a p.b. with 7.08 secs and then 7.04 secs. Matthew Adum-Yeboah who raced only once but he too recorded a p.b. of 7.05 secs. HCA member Jo Ryan was in the women’s race and also recorded a p.b. of 7.98 secs, followed by 8.01 secs. Hurdles specialist George Vaughan recorded 7.42 secs and then also a p.b. of 7.34 secs. George also raced over 200m where he recorded 23.11 secs, with Chris Stone placing a close 3rdin the “A” race with 22.39 secs. Another U/20 Nabil Tezkratt raced over 400m and was timed at 52.74 secs. In the field multi-eventer Amelia MacDonald cleared 1.55m in the high jump and reached 5.27m in the long jump whilst Denesha Rocastle recorded 10.98m in the triple jump.

 In Birmingham at the Midland Open Indoor Meeting Kitty Eleyae was in decent form in the long jump with 5.87m as was new member Shanara Hibbert with 12.45m in the triple jump.

 In Glasgow, Che Richards and Ewan Dyer both opened their indoor season with victories, Che in the long jump with 7.37m and Ewan over 800m with 1m53.37 secs.

The previous weekend at Loughborough Cameron Fillery raced over 60mH and recorded 7.81 secs, just 0.01 secs from his p.b. and also 6.96 secs for the 60m flat
