James Bongart almost back to his best

James Bongart competed in his 1st major competition for nearly 2 years this weekend and it brought back some painful memories, as he had to revisit the scene of the serious injury that he sustained at Bedford in June 2014. Not to be deterred, James was there to compete in the BUCS championships and on Sunday he threw 52m 77cm in Pool A - enough to qualify for today's final. Today was a very early start and with very tough opposition he was able to dig deep and qualify for the last 8 and get 3 extra throws. With this James produced a SB and his 2nd best ever throw of 54m 31cm, which secure him 8th place overall. This is a massive step on the road to recovery, and it certainly has been worth the wait.
