There have been some useful performances from Woodford athletes, both in the U.S. and at home. Those included otable season's bests for Mark Dry, Tiffany Porter and Sam Watts, and personal bests for Hollie Pattie-Belleli and Canaan Solomon.
Both Tiffany Porter and TCU student Sam Watts competed at the Tom Jones Memorial at Gainsville, Florida, at the weekend. Tiffany won the 100mH with12.72 secs (+1.0) after a 12.84 (+1.8) secs heat win, and Tiffany is currently ranked 2nd in the UK rankings behind sister Cindi Ofili's 12.66 secs (+2.0) the previous weekend. Sam, already 2nd on the UK 200m lists with his 20.60 secs from the indoor season, won his race at Gainsville with 20.68 secs (-0.2). Richard Kilty was the fastest British athlete there, winning a separate 200m race in 20.60 secs (-0.4), to go equal with Sam on the UK rankings. Also competing in the US was Missouri State student Hollie Pattie-Belleli, who won her race over 100mH, just outside her best ever of 13.67 secs with 13,69 secs (+1.5). Hollie also raced over 400mH and marginally improved her recent personal best to 61.00 secs as she placed 3rd.
Closer to home at the recent Watford Graded meeting, first year U/20 Canaan Solomon won over 800m and improved his personal best to 1m51.01 secs, and Mark Dry recently competed at Loughborough, where he opened his season in the hammer, close to his best ever with 76.23m to go to the top of the UK rankings. Amongst many Woodford athletes in action at the weekend's Woodford Graded meeting Chris Linque improved his season's best in the DT to 48.09m.
