Indoor Round-Up

Indoor news over the last week or so included news from the US, where there were personal bests from Ed Shepherd and Holy Pattie-Belleli, good form from Sam Watts and Cindy Ofili, as well as closer to home from others.

Last weekend, Ed Shepherd was racing for his US University in Seattle and, in a high class race over 3000m, he recorded a personal best of 8m14.27 secs. This weekend in Texas, Sam Watts placed 2nd over 200m with a season's best of 20.80 secs, whilst in South Bend INA Cindii Ofili opened her hurdles season winning the 60mH with 7.97 secs. Closer to home, in Karlsruhe, Germany, Cindi's sister, Tiffany Porter, placed 3rd over 60mH with 7.94 secs. Also in the US, there was an indoor pentathlon personal best for Holly Pattie-Belleli with a score of 3655 points, and marks of 8.63 secs (60mH), 1.60m (HJ), 5.60m (LJ),8.16m (SP) and 2m21.64 secs (800m). The previous weekend in Pittsburgh, Holly had achieved two individual personal best, over 60mH with 8.59 secs and over 400m with 57.63 secs. 

Results from the UK included Paul Scanlan who recorded 1m57.00 secs over 800m in the BMC meeting at Lee Valley, and additional results from the London Games, included over 60m where Sarah Busby recorded marks of 7.75 secs and 7.73 secs, and Azaria Francis with 8.08 secs and 8.00 secs. Tyler Bown recorded 25.60 secs over 200, whilst in Dublin, Colm Burke won the Ireland U/23 Long Jump title with 7.10m. 

The Essex Championships were held at Lee Valley this weekend and there was a title for Shayne Dewar (U/20 200m) and a silver for Keyisha Robinson (U/17 300m). Other results will be added as they are known.
