ROBERT WOLSKI R.I.P.

It is with great sadness that we have to report upon the death of high jumper Robert Wolski at the age of 43. Robert had been involved in a serious motor accident in Poland on Boxing Day when he was taken to hospital  but sadly died of his injuries earlier today.

Robert was a Poland international and Poland champion who competed in the 2004 Athens Olympic Games and the 2006 Moscow World Indoor Championships where he placed 8th. He had a lifetime best of 2.31m. Robert moved to the UK in early 2010 and became a stalwart of our BAL team, competing for 10 consecutive seasons for the Club and twice winning a bronze medal in the British Indoor Championships. In 2019 at the age of 36 Robert won the World Masters (M35) Indoor title, and as recently as 2021 competed in the Polish Indoor Championships. Robert's best performance whilst a Woodford athlete was 2.26m.

Robert had two children and moved back to Poland with his family late in 2019 and our thoughts and condolences are with them at this sad time.
