World U/20 Relay Medals for Ethan and Noa
Yesterday (Sunday) saw the concluding action of the World Athletics U/20 championships which here held in the US at Eugene, Oregon
Ethan Franklin ran leg 3 on the GB team which placed 2nd to the US team in 38.90 secs. In winning the US set a new World U/20 record of 38.16 secs. The GB time, was 38.90 secs, 0.11 ahead of Jamaica and equalled the European U/20 record. The GB women picked up bronze in the 4x400m and although Noa Chodokufa wasn't in the final team she gains a bronze medal having run in the qualifying round. Not also ran on the mixed 4x400m squad that qualified for the final. Noa as an U/18 has enjoyed a fantastic breakthrough season over 400m and a few weeks prior placed 5th in the European U/18 Championships in Rieti. At those same U/18 Championships U/16 athlete Isabella Moulton was selected for the 100mH and went out in the semis where she recorded 13.80 secs, having equalled her p.b. of 13.46 secs in winning her heat. Another Woodford athlete competing in Oregon was Sean Atafo and although not making the TJ final he recorded 15.41m (+1.7) finishing 11th in his qualify Pool (and 16th overall).
