Yemi Mary in fine form in Botswana

Woodford's Yemi Mary John was part of the GB contingent competing in the World Relay Championships In Gaborone, Botswana over the weekendd. Running the anchor leg in both the heats and final together with Alex Haydock Wilson, Lina Nielson and Jake Minshall, Yemi Mary brought the team home to qualify first in the heat, overhauling a significant deficit to overhaul Kenya on the final leg and recording a very fast 49.15 secs split. In the final Yemi Mary ran another storming final leg bringing GB from 6th to 3rd with split of 49.08 secs. That split is the 3rd fastest ever recorded by a British woman with only Nicola Sandra and Amber Anning quicker. GB's 3rd place in the final guarantees the team a place in the 2027 Beijing World Championships and the World Athletics Ultimate Championships in Budapest later this year.
