Another Club Record for Yemi Mary

Yemi Mary John, Woodford's former 400m World U/20 and reigning European U/23 champion jointly held the Club 400m record of 51.04 secs with Sally Gunnell, the former World and Olympic 400m Hurdles Champion and former world record holder. Yemi Mary, who is studying at U.S.C. in California, has now twice improved that mark in recent weeks. Racing in Los Angeles on the 4th of May, Yemi Mary placed 2nd but with a time of 51.01 secs to become the sole club record holder. At College Station Texas yesterday (Thursday)  Yemi Mary improved again with 50.79 secs, but was agonisingly just outside the World Championship qualifying mark of 50.75 secs. That now ranks Yemi Mary 17th on the UK all-time lists.
