Super Saturday for Woodford Green w EL Young Athletes brings three new Club Records

On a day likened to team GB super Saturday at London 2012, several  Woodford Green Ac w EL Young Athletes  competed at an open meeting in Dagenham and amongst many fine performances there were new Club records set by  Abigail Reid and two by Alex Foster.
Abigail Reid in the U/15 girls produced a fantastic run in the 1500m and this was enough to improve the Club best that had stood since 1976 to Nechama de JesusAbigail's time of  4min 41.08sec, was an improvement of 1.5 secs on the old mark and currently moves Abigail to 9th on this years UK age rankings, confirming what a fine young talent Abigail is.
 
However more was to come in the U/13 Boys age group when Alex Foster set new Club records in both sprints. In the 100m Alex ran a fine time of 12.18 secs (+1.9) significantly bettering the time set 19 years ago (and subsequently equalled by others)  of Gavin Hoyte who went on to play football at Arsenal and elsewhere. In the 200m Alex was in outstanding form again and his time of 25.16s secs (+1.1) was also a significant improvement on the 18 year old prior mark of 25.5 secs set by Chris Vickers.  Truly phenomenal performances by Alex and these two times rank him No.1 in the country at the present time.
 
 
Natasha Wynn U/13 girl was also in fine form and so close to bettering the club record set by Abigail Reid in the 800m, missing it by 0.6sec, she ran a new PB with: 2m 23.11sec. Nate Harding ran the U/15 boys 1500m and smashed his PB by over 30secs with a new PB of: 4m 38.14sec. Oscar Barbero Farthing ran the 800m in the U/15 boys: 2m 12.03sec, Daniel Arnold recorded a time of: 2min 41.26sec, whilst Patrick Hayden set e new PB time of: 2m 33.54sec and likewise Isabella Worwood in the U/15's new PB: 2m 42.12sec. Other athletes in the 800m were Faye Owers (U/13G): 2m 45.89sec, Emma Lord (U/17W): 2min 43.16sec PB and Danynal Nasir (U/15B): 3m.11.99sec. In the 1500m other athletes besides Abigail & Nate to compete were, Tess Noblet (U/13G): 5m 35.52sec, Ella Langston (U/13G): 5min 53.20sec and Rachael Lam (U/17W): 6min 05.96sec.
 
In the shorter distances, Annabel Reid U/13 girls ran a new PB in the 150m with a time of: 22.72sec, and Alex's brother Lawrence Foster also recorded a PB in the U/11's 75m's: 11.18sec. To round of the performances, Olumide Isaac ran two races in the senior mens 100m with 10.63 secs 9+1.3)  & 10.61secs (+0.3) respectively.
