Phil Norman runs fast road 5K

Phil Norman, who has his eyes on Olympic qualification in the steeplechase this year, produced a pleasing performance on the roads last week. He returned to Armagh, where last year he ran 14.02 for 13th place in the popular annual 5K. This year he finished higher up the field, in 4th place, and clocked 13.46. This year a mighty 21 men breached the 14 minute barrier.

Phil will shortly begin a six-month break from work in order to get himself in the best possible shape for attacking his season's goal.
