Indoor performances by Woodford athletes over the weekend were led by Sam Watts who, racing in Fayetteville in the US for his American University, went to 5th on this year's indoor world rankings as he won his race in a time of 20.60 secs, his fastest ever, indoors or out, not wind assisted.
Closer to home in Sheffield at the England U/20 Championships, Canaan Solomon picked up a bronze medal for his 3rd place over 800m, with a time of 1m54.63 secs in a tactically run final, after qualifying with 1m53.20 secs from his heat. Also in Sheffield, Scott Webster was 5th in the U/20 high jump with 1.90m, and Anna Clark just lost out for a place in the U/20 800m final having placed 3rd in her heat with 2m15.69 secs. Competing in Ghent, Belgium, Colm Burke recorded 7.29m for 8th in the long jump
