National Junior League

A far from full stength WGEL U/20 team finished 8th in the final fixture of the season at Copthall, and 7th overall in the Southern Premier Division. Although there were several gaps, many of those that competed did so at a high level, and many others rallied round and competed in several events. At an individual level shot and discus personal bests for Youcef Zatat, the latter a Club U/20 record, and some good sprinting stood out. Youcef Zatat finished 2nd in the discus with his personal best of 49.82m, to establish a new WGEL U/20 Club record. Youcef also achieved a personal best in the shot as he also placed 2nd with a fine 16.06m. Those marks move Youcef to 6th for both events on this year's UK U/20 rankings.

The men's sprints were of a high standard, and were run into strong headwinds. Jordan KIby-Polidore was 3rd in the 100m with 111.22 secs (-5.6) and 2nd in the 200m with 21.44 secs (-1.8), whilst Hasif Bedford was 3rd in the "B" 100m with 11.35 secs (-1.9), and Jermaine Hamilton won the "B" 200m with 22.23 secs (-1.3). The 4x100m relay team of Joseph Dewar, Bedford, Hamilton and Kirby-Polidore, finished a close 2nd in fast 41.98 secs - just pipping the best ever by a Woodford U/20 team (42.0 secs), but on this occasion included one 2nd claim member. Over 400m Paul Scanlan found 49.73 secs only good enough for 6th, but Matt MacCloughlin won the "B" with 50.19 secs. James Stockings placed 3rd in the 800m with 1m58.62 secs. In the long jump, Joseph Dewarwas 3rd with 6.36m (-1.0) and George Hamilton won the "B" with 6.25m (-0.8).

Of the women, Hollie Pattie-Belleli was busy, placing 5th in the 100m with 12.68 secs (-1.5), 5th in the 200m with 26.29 secs (-2.1), 3rd in the 100mH with 15.32 secs (-2.1), and 5th in the "B" javelin with 19.96m. Pamel Milla was 8th in the "B" 100m with 13.50 secs (-1.8), and also 7th in the hammer with 20.30m. In the "B" 200m Anna Clark placed 7th with 28.11 secs (-1.8), and was 6th in the 800m with 2m25.64 secs, as Stephanie Smith placed 7th in the "B" with 2m54.53 secs, 7th in the "B" discus with 14.42m, and 5th in the pole vault with 2.00m. In the high jump Joanne Lineham ws 8th with 1.50m, and 7th in the triple jump with 9.40m. In the javelin Jessica Narweh was 7th with 15.83m and also 8th in the discus with 14.99m. In the long jump, Ebony Bobb-Semple was 6th with 4.41m (0.0) and Nya Petineud was 7th in the B" with 4.07m (-1.0). The 4x100m team of Pattie-Bellieli, Bobb-Semple,Tobi Akiwumi and Milla were 6th with 50.71 secs, and in the 4x400m the team of Clark, Lineham, Bobb-Semple and Smith finished 7th with 4m 25.56 secs.
