Dan Awde Decathlete
Dan Awde started his Olympic campaign in the Decathlon with a superb P.B.
in the 100m of 10.71 secs (-0.7) placing him 7th. after the first event.
After two no-jumps in the long jump both of which appeared to be around the 7.50m area, Dan's third "safe" effort was from some way behind the board and measured a modest 6.83m. After this jump Dan seemed to be in some trouble with what appeared to be a recurrence of a knee injury, and was not able to take any further part in the competition. A great disappointment for Dan who had harboured a realistic aim of a top ten finish.
All club members will want to wish Dan better luck and success in the future
