U15/13s take 2nd and remain top

The WGEL Under 15s & Under 13s, geed up by their success at the 1st match at home in the YDL Lower Premier League, travelled to the home of the national champions, Blackheath & Bromley Harriers AC. It was tough going with some noticeable absentees from the squad, but they dug deep and came away with a well earned 2nd place on the day behind the hosts, which keeps them top of the table.

Alex Osagie ran well in the Under 15 boys 100m in a time of: 11.87sec and 2nd place in the a-string, while Sammy Geist stepping in to cover the b-string was also 2nd with: 12.39sec, whilst Tyler Reynolds did the non-scoring 100m in:12.26sec. In the 200m there would have been 2 PB's if not for the +2.1 & +2.5 wind speed, however, Alex was 3rd in a-string: 23.58sec and Callum Clydesdale:23.84 was good enough for 2nd. Callum however equalled his PB in the 300m with: 38.01sec but Rahul Solanki seems to be getting better and better at this event with a very impressive PB time of: 38.53sec and 2nd. On to the 800m and Lucas Freedman produced a stunning performance competing against a very talented Blackheath and Bromley runner, he narrowly missed out on 1st but a time of: 2m 05.44sec and 2nd was good enough for another PB, Charlie Howes was b-string and was 4th with: 2m 48.99sec. The 1500m had George Worwood and Stephen Ng compete and both claiming PB's, George was 4th a-string: 4m 41.77sec and Stephen was 3rd b-string in: 4m 49.83sec. Daniel Niewczasinski-Kirkland powered his way to a new PB and 1st in the 80m Hurdles: 11.83sec, and Toby Taylor also obliged in that he was 1st b-string in a PB time of: 13.17sec. The field events see Tyler Reynolds finish 5th with: 5m 07cm and Sammy Geist: 4m 70cm was good enough for 5th as well. Toby Taylor after several attempts in recent competitions was able to clear 1m 55cm in the High Jump for 4th with Daniel 3rd in b-string with a clearance of: 1m 45cm. In the Pole Vault Stephen Ng had more success with a new PB height of: 2m 70cm and 2nd with Okkie Lee equalling his PB of: 2m 00cm and 3rd.

Now the throws, William Stander claimed a PB in the Shot Put with: 11m 66cm and 2nd, a 1st in the Hammer with: 46m 29cm and 3rd in the Javelin with: 38m 76cm. Cristian Scozzari was the b-string in shot and was 5th with: 7m 53cm and also b-string in Discus with: 12m 46cm and 6th, whilst James Simpson was a-string Discus and threw a new PB distance of: 15m 37cm for 6th and was 3rd in b-string Javelin with: 27m 23cm. Kian Traynor was the only other thrower who claimed a PB in the Hammer b-string with: 20m 58cm. The 4x100m relay team ( Tyler Reynolds, Sammy Geist, Callum Clydesdale & Alex Osagie) were in a very tough race but were still able to finish 3rd with: 47.81sec. The last event the 4x300m produced a CLUB RECORD time of: 2m 40.65sec when they finished 3rd the team being made up of: (Lucas Freedman, Toby Taylor, Daniel Niewczasinski-Kirkland & Rahul Solanki).

For the Under 15 girls Shalom Prince is most definitely having a purple patch with her sprinting, she ran the 100m a-string in a new PB time of: 12.39sec and a PB whilst also running a good time in the 200m with: 25.75sec and it would also have been a PB if not for a +2.2 wind, she came 2nd in the a-string. Remi Salako was 4th in the b-string 100m with a time of: 13.39sec, she also did the Long Jump finishing with a 1st place leap of: 5m 24cm. In the non-scoring 100m's again if not for the wind at +2.6, then Savanna Gayle: 13.20sec and Tare Gabrielle Akpoveta: 13.99sec would have been PB's. Joy Larins was the b-string 200m runner and was 3rd in a new PB time of: 26.85sec. Both Isabella Moulton and Habiba Tijani ran the 300m and both again claimed PB's. Isabella was 4th a-string: 43.65sec and Habiba was 3rd b-string with: 44.71sec.

Isabella also did the 75m Hurdles with a 3rd place PB time of: 11.68sec whilst Tyleah Edwards also PB b-string 5th place: 13.15sec. Jasmine Hall ran the 800m to come home in 3rd with a PB of: 2m 26.48sec and Faye Owers returning to form now was 3rd with: 2m 35.58sec. In the longer event of 1500m Alice Padian was 5th with: 5m 32.67sec and Marissa Higgs-Smith was 3rd in b-string with a PB time: 5m 36.89sec. Helping Remi in the Long Jump was Tare Gabrielle Akpoveta who was 5th with: 3m 79cm. Phoebe Whelan was 4th in the a-string High Jump with: 1m 40cm and Faye Owers claimed 3rd spot in the b-string with a new PB leap of: 1m 35cm.

In the Pole Vault Emily Stockill was 2nd with: 2m 30cm and Marissa Higgs-Smith 1st with: 2m 20cm. Tyleah Edwards in the Shot Put was 6th with a distance of: 7m 68cm and Joy Larinde: 5m 54cm was a 6th place b-string finish. Isla Barron threw: 17m 68cm in the a-string Discus to finish 4th with Phoebe Whelan 5th b-string: 11m 72cm. Emily Stockill claimed a PB in the Hammer with 6th: 18m 24cm and Phoebe Whelan did well for: 16m 95cm, and in the Javelin Emily also took part with: 11m 23cm for 6th whilst Marissa Higgs-Smith was also 6th: 10m 44cm. In the relays their were mixed fortunes for the two teams. Unfortunately the 4x100m relay team were DQ'd for running out of the change over sector, however, the 4x300m team (Tyleah Edwards, Jasmine Hall, Savanna Gayle & Shalom Prince) ran very well with an exceptional last leg run by Shalom to finish 3rd in a time of: 3m 00.06sec.

In the Under 13 boys Nathaniel Sandy was in explosive form coming home in 1st place a-string 75m with a new PB of: 9.66sec and Etha Rawlings also a PB time of: 10.74sec for 3rd place b-string, Ellis Gentles ran: 10.97sec and Harrison Dawe: 9.88sec a PB for non-scoring 75m race. Harrison, whose sprinting is also improving with every race, was 1st in the 150m with a PB of 19.39sec, and Blake Edwards, who was 2nd, would also have claimed a PB again if it were not for a +2.6 tailwind, but he was still impressive with 20.23sec.

Aarav Patel's hurdling has improved immensely in such a short time, he proved that with yet another PB of: 13.70sec and 3rd in the a-string with Oskar Prince: 15.53sec and also 3rd in the b-string. Oskar was also in action in the 800m and was 3rd in a new PB of: 2m 28.01sec and Ashton Jokhiya claimed 4th b-string with a PB of: 2m 36.29sec. In the 1200m Eric Frith recorded a new PB of: 3m 58.56sec for 4th  and Henry Richards copied him with a PB of: 4m 02.98sec for 2nd place b-string. In the field Blake Edwards was 2nd in the Long Jump: 4m 59cm and Ellis Gentles 3rd with: 3m 82cm. Blake also did the High Jump and claimed a new height PB of: 1m 43cm and 2nd with Henry Richards: 1m 20cm and 4th. Harrison and Nathaniel both finished 1st in the a & b string Shot Put, Harrison with: 10m 01cm and Nathaniel a new PB distance of: 9m 47cm.

Eric Frith threw: 21m 47cm for 3rd in Javelin with Oskar Prince: 48m 36cm and 3rd b-string. In the last event the 4x100m relay (Ethan Rawlings, Nathaniel Sandy, Aarav Patel & Harrison Dawe) they produced a real fine performance coming home in 1st place with a time of: 52.66sec.

The 75m sprints for the Under 13 girls see Rida Oluwa record a new PB of: 10.58sec for 5th in the a-string and Rosie Anderson also a PB time of: 11.10sec and 4th, while Kehanique Lowe ran a PB time of: 12.39sec in the non-scoring race.

Rida also went on to get another PB this time in the 150m with: 20.80sec and 4th with Eden Dunnage who was 6th in: 22.43sec. In the 70m Hurdles Eden ran really well claiming yet another PB with a 3rd place time of: 12.57sec and Rosie also a PB with b-string time of: 14.48sec and 4th. Eva Prince was 3rd in the 800m with a new PB time of: 2m 35.78sec and Kehanique Lowe also a PB in the b-sring with: 2m 54.23sec. In the non-scoring race Lottie Oates and Lucy Nixon ran well and both claimed new PB's with: 2m 44.88sec and 2m 54.48sec respectively. In the 1200m Gracie Fayinka was 5th with: 4m 18.88sec and Maia Lalani was 4th with a new PB of: 4m 41.68sec. The Long Jump see Rida finish 2nd in the a-string with: 3m 88cm and Kehanique was 4th b-string: 3m 08cm. The High Jump Eva Prince cleared 1m 15cm and 4th place and a PB with Rosie Anderson 4th with: 1m 05cm. The throws see Aliyah Ishiekwene claim a new PB distance in the Shot with: 6m 80cm and 4th and Eden Dunnage was 2nd with: 6m 49cm and in the Javelin Isabelle Stander was 2nd with a throw of: 23m 01cm and Alexia Ishekwene was 4th with: 11m 96cm. Finally the 4x100m team (Kehanique Lowe, Eva Prince, Rosie Anderson & Rida Oluwa) finished in 4th place with a time of: 58.50sec.
