Athlete photos wanted

We are in the process of developing a photo archive so that we can illustrate website articles and press reports with pictures of our athletes.

This is particularly relevant as the Track & Field season approaches. There will be outstanding performances from both senior and young athletes during the summer, and we would like to be able to show our readers who we are writing about.

A good level of resolution is required by local newspapers. This is less important for website photos. Action shots are preferred but by no means essential.

Annual Music Quiz, 13th March

Just when you thought it was safe to venture outside without being questioned at every turn, I bring  horrifying news of a music quiz taking place on Friday 13th March 2015  at 7.30pm.

Be warned, this event should not be tackled alone. Safety in numbers can best be achieved by forming a team of 8, operating under strict instructions not to get separated from the main party and to stay on the path that leads directly to:

Triskaidekaphobia sufferers may take some comfort from the knowledge that Brother Craig will once again be playing music to calm the nerves.

£12 per person including food (Fish/Chicken/Veggie and Chips).

Team Manager(s) needed!

The Young Athletes section is taking part in the Eastern Young Athletes' League this season,which begins on April 13th. Unfortunately we have no team managers for the under 17 boys' and girls' teams. Colin Wint has filled this post for some years, but is standing down owing to pressure of work. The league consists of 5 matches, approximately one per month. The venues and dates are on the website. The coaches would sort out the teams with the manager(s) contacting the athletes and organising the team on the day. There would be plenty of support from the other managers (Helen Finch and Wendy Fuhr) as well as from the YA coaches. If anyone feels that they could help out could they contact Helen Finch or Jean Burgess for more information ASAP.

New club photographer/s required

ken and cameraKen Bray will be 85 next birthday and has been taking club photographs since 1950! Yes - over 60 years. But the club now requires a replacement - or replacements!

Within the local press well over 1000 must have been used and, at times, they would have been seen on the pages of Athletics Weekly and other sports publications.
