As a very truncated Covid affected Track and Field season begins to wind down a number of Woodford athletes, mainly younger members have been in action over the last week with several good performances being recorded.
At Dagenham on Saturday in the U/11 75 m event Daniel Niewczasinski-Kirkland was 3rd with a best ever, but windy time of 11.53 w (+2.4) secs just ahead of Lawrence Foster who was timed at 11.58 secs w (+2.4). In the Girls U/11 race over the same distance Azzurra Cioni placed 2nd in her race with 11.08 secs (+O.8). Azzurra also raced over 150m where she recorded 22.37 secs w (+2.4). In the U/13 age group and over 100m Caitlin Hancock recorded 13.95 secs w (+3.5) and Rebecca Wright 13.42 secs w (+4.1). In that same age group Isabelle Kyson was timed at 27.63 secs w (+3.8). Larrisa Anipa an U/20 W recorded 13.44 secs w (+3.6) in her race. Alan James now a V45 raced over both 100m and 200m and recorded 12.57 secs (+1.8) and 25.98 secs w (+2.8).
Over 200m, U/20 men Matthew Adum-Yeboah and Tolani Alaba both raced well although were frustrated by the wind. They recorded 22.01 secs w (+2.9 )and 22.11 secs w (+2.9) respectively. Senior, Omololu Abiodun had his first ace outdoors this year and recorded 22.45 secs (+1.8). U/20 W Mary John also raced over 200m and recorded 25.62 secs (+0.4). V40 Scot Kyson recorded 27.38 secs w (+2.3).
Over 800m U/17 Max Richards recorded a personal best of 2m05.74 secs as did two U/13’s, Patrick Hayden with 2m38.43 secs and Natasha Wynn with 2m30.59 secs. Samanta Bendaraviciute raced over 400m and was timed at 64.35 secs.
At Highgate over 1500m U/15 Boy Nate Hardy recorded 5m07.00 secs, a personal best and U/15 Girls, Molly Sherrin and Abigail Reid both raced outdoors on the track fro the first time this season and recorded 5m24.7 secs and 4m50.8 secs respectively.
Recent UK champion over 100mH Cindy Ofili was in action in Samorin Slovakia and won with 12.99 secs (+0.5) after a heat win in 13.16 secs (+0.4)
