Dan Rowden was in great form over 800m in Gothenburg on Saturday. Impressively winning a high quality race Dan recorded a personal best of 1m 44.74 secs, improving his personal best and Woodford Green Club record by 0.23 secs. Dan had recently showed a glimpse of the form he was in when racing in Sollentuna also in Sweden, but on this occasion he followed the pace more closely running in third place at the bell which was reached in 50.72 secs for the pacemaker. A very strong final 150m saw him win by 0.6 secs from Sweden’s Andreas Kramer, the athlete who had beaten Dan into second place for the European U/23 title in 2018. Dan now tops the UK rankings for this season and currently ranks 5th in the world. He also moves up to 18th on the UK all-time lists.
