Denesha wins Virtual TJ comp

As the Woodford track reopened but with landing pits still out of action, Denesha Rocastle managed to win the Neuff Virtual Standing Triple Jump for U20 women. In her first series of attempts she exceeded distances achieved by any woman in the first two weeks of the competition, ending with 7.73m, but this left her second U20W of the week. She improved the following week but until her final effort was still 1cm behind the U20 leader, at 7.89. Her final attempt of 7.97m was second overall in the women’s competition, which had over 100 entries from 6 different countries, just 1cm behind the senior winner who was from Australia.
