In addition to Phil Norman’s steeplechase p.b. (reported on elsewhere), there were other Woodford athletes in action in Oordegem, where there were season’s bests for Jack Lawrie and Anna Nelson, whilst several were in action elsewhere.

Also in action at the Flanders Cup meeting in Oordegem, Belgium were hurdlers Jack Lawrie and Anna Nelson. Both raced over 400mH, and Jack placed 3rd in his race recording 51.01 secs, and Anna was 6th with 60.35 secs, season’s best for each. Over 400m Ellis Greatrex confirmed his recent good form as he raced twice, recording times of 47.63 secs and later 47.55 secs. Omololu Abiodun had his first race of the outdoor season and over 100m he finished 3rd in his heat with 10.95 secs.

At Bedford in the National multi-events championships, Amelia MacDonald competed in the U/20 heptathlon and, although posting a DNF, having not registered a mark in the long jump, did show good form with marks including a p.b. high jump of 1.66m, and a windy 100mH time of 15.32 secs `(+2.9). On Monday at the same venue, Will Grimsey showed continued good high jump form as he placed 2nd in the BIG throws and jumps competition with a clearance of 2.18m, and there was a season’s best in the Long jump from Kitty Eleyae of 5.93m (+1.9), and a good hammer mark of 58.22m for Lucy Marshall.

In action in Scotland (at Aberdeen) Che Richards won a long jump competition with 7.48m, with HCA member Calum Henderson recording 7.07m. Sadly Che picked up a slight hamstring injury in the process.
