Several Woodford athletes were in action indoors over the weekend, both in the UK and overseas, where there was a sprint hurdles p.b. for Gabriella Ade-Onojobi, and a p.b. equalling run for Cameron Fillery.
Summer 2018: Gabriella Ade-Onjobi
Gabriella Ade-Onjobi was in action in Austria at the Vienna Indoor Classic Meeting where she was 2nd in her heat and then 3rd= in the final of the 60mH, clocking 8.41 secs on each occasion, both personal best times, improving on her previous best of 8.51 secs. Cameron Fillery was in action in Bratislava at the Elan Meeting where he placed 3rd over 60mH twice with times of 7.96 secs, and then 7.92 secs to equal his recent personal best. Also in action in Vienna was Youcef Zatat who placed 3rd in the shot with 17.88m. Closer to home at the London Indoor Games at Lee Valley, Chris Stone comfortable won the “A” race over 200m with 21.84 secs, with George Vaughan recording 23.54 secs to win the “D” race. George also raced over 60m where he recorded times of 7.48 secs and then 7.45 secs. Omolulu Abiodun recorded 6.96 secs over the same distance. In the field Kitty Eleyae won with 5.66m and Ellen McCartney placed 5th= in the pole vault with 3.51m. Also Vaulting, in Manchester, was HCA member Dan Gardner who cleared 4.91m.
In Glasgow Ewan Dyer made further progress in his move from 400mH to 800m, winning a close final at the Scottish indoor Championships in 1m55.52 secs
Summer 2018: Cameron Fillery
In the US racing over a Mile indoors at Houston, James Stockings recorded 4m23.78 secs, and HCA member Matt Arnold 4m24.96 secs.
