Young Athlete Awards Night

It was wonderful to see the Club House packed to the rafters with athletes, coaches, parents and supporters. They witnessed a grand night to celebrate the achievements of our young members. Music and an athletes' photo scroll kicked off the night.

Jean Burgess compered the evening in fine style. Chris Bullock, representing the Jack Petchey Foundation, gave an inspiring summary on Jack’s personal life, his business achievements and his continuing support for youngsters in general. It was particularly pleasing that this year our Special Guest, presenting the Awards, was past Olympian and GB athlete, the club's men's T&F team manager and highly regarded coach, Gladys Bird.
