Indoor action for Woodford athletes was focussed on the British Universities (BUCS) Championships held at Sheffield . Performances were led by titles for Youcef Zatat and Che Richards, and a silver medal for Omololu Abiodun.

Youcef Zatat who had shown his good form last weekend at the same venue during the British Championships where he placed 2nd in the shot with a personal best of 18.22m, was a little below that standard but nevertheless produced his second best ever competitive distance with 17.58m to take the title. In the long jump, Edinburgh University student Che Richards produced a personal best of 7.64m in qualifying and then went on to win the final with 7.46m. In 4th place was Sam Khogali whose leap of 7.13m was a season's best. Also in the shot was Huw Richards who put 11.95m in qualifying but did not make the final. Reigning champion Omololu Abiodun was on this occasion 2nd in the 200m where he just lost out with a time of 21.55 secs, but given the serious injury he picked up in the relay in this event last year, this was an encouraging performance.

The women's 800m saw a personal best for Anna Clark who made the final and then placed 5th with 2m10.55 secs. Anna Nelson didn't make the 400m final, but did twice run close to her best recording 57.05 secs in her heat and 57.07 secs in her semi.
