Interested in skilling up to become an Endurance Official and helping out at future Met League fixtures? An Endurance Officials training course will be held in Belgrave Hall, Wimbledon across two evenings: Monday 13 March and Wednesday 22 March, both starting at 7.00pm. As a proud Met League Club we are happy to spread the word and invite members who have an interest in officiating to attend. A good many of the Met League officials (brilliant though they are) are in their late 70's and into their 80's and much as they enjoy what they do, several are looking to reduce their commitments, so it's time to encourage others to get involved, starting with gaining the basic Officials qualification. Check out the link for more details:

To those who knew the wonderful coach John Sullivan. We have been told that John has sadly passed away. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday 15th February at 11am at St Mary and St Michael Catholic Church, 2 Lukin Street, Commercial Road, London E1 0AA.
John’s international reputation was based on his elite middle distance squad, whose depth was unequalled during the ‘golden age’ of middle distance running in the UK in the 1980s and attracted athletes from several countries around Europe to train with him in London. However he also gained significant success coaching hurdlers and his attention from the mid-1990s became increasingly focused on shorter distances, hence he worked with internationals at all men's track disciplines.
In spite of the growing online petition and demonstrations being held in many towns and cities across the country, it has been confirmed that the Music Quiz will go ahead as planned on Friday 17th March at the clubhouse.
Under-fire quizmaster Tony Pamphilon’s response to the protests was typically robust.
“A few bellyaching kill-joys will not stop us. People should have the right to answer questions on popular music from across the decades with one or two musicals, classical pieces and tunes from Brother Craig thrown in. Together we can make the Music Quiz great again.”
